Sketching my ideas for the contents page, i used my research to help create a realsistic style and layout. Firstly i needed a big heading that will stand out at the top of the page. I made the size of the font cover the whole width of the page and i used upper case letters to emphasies the titles importance on the page. Below my i placed the date and issue of the magazine. This information tells the reader when the magazien was oublished ad when they brought it. Also information on how many magazines the company has produced. Using a sqaure text box i wanted to make the headings stand seperate from the text. When i come to create this on phototshop i plan to make these boxes black with a contrasting colour of text over the top; for example red or white text. The picture i want to use is of the same band from the front cover. This links in well and makes the reader want go on and read their artical. I also wanted to use another picture of a solo artist to shows another performer who will feature in the magazine. Having a solo artist featured may also help appeal to a wider auience as the magazine will not seem focused on just bands in the music industry. Below the picture i wanted another box with a coloured background to include more information the monthly topics that the magazien features; so information about subscribtion, emailing, charts and competitions.

My inittial ideas when sketching my double page spread is how i wanted to different create sections of the page in my layout. I created a section at the top of the page for my big headline of the artical. For now I chose 'BLIND' but when i create my real product in photoshop i want a catching headline or even an extracted quote to attract the reader. Another section i wanted was for the picture of the band. This picture was going to be of them with their blindfolds off, in different clothes and posing in an interview position (sitting down). I wanted below the picture to have an readthrough or an intro to the artical. Next i created a section where the main body of the articial would be situated. I chose the right hand side of the A3 page as I liked the idea of the text increasing with lengths as the artical progressed. I thought the design may look more interesting in this shape. As my 'USP' is targeting new and upcoming bands my last section i created on the left hand side could be about individual information on each band member. I believe the reader will like this as they can find out more personal informaton about the lives of these upcoming stars. Also if a recording compay wanted to find out more about them then this might attract them and give the band job opportunities.
