Color Themes

When looking at adverts in the last post it has reminded me on how imporant colour can be in media. It can be very symbolic and it can help reflct a tone or mood.
From my previous magazine research and analyse i have seen how a magazines continuitety in using sililar colours for the front cover and contents keep the pages links together and flowing for a reader. I have also noticed how a magazine uses three colours on page and uses them in different ways; fonts, backgrounds and borders. From the music magazines i have analysed they have most commonly used red, black, white and yellow. 

The colour RED reflects a rebelious attitutes, also symbolises love, energy and anger; all ideas i believe i want to include in my magazine as they will help target my teenage audeince by enagignt them and also connecting them to the text.

The colours Black and White work well together and help make coloured text or background stand out to the reader. The colour white brings brightness to the piece is a very modern colour. The colour black is bold and is good emphasising text or pictures.

The colour Yellow is very bright and is contrasting from the other colors. This primary color makes us think of the summer's sun and also of emergency signs.


These are the colors i am going to include in my magazine's front cover and contents page. They all complement and work well together. They are also popularly used in music magazines on the market so this is a convention of the genre. I believe these choice of colors will help attract my audience teenage audience and will work well withe genre of music my magazine targets.
