HOW and WHY i Edited my Pictures

I really like this picture of chloe and I thought there was a lot of potentional for the photo to look even better. Using photoshop I firstly began by changing the colour levels. This made the different colours on her dress stand out and look brighter. I decided to do tis to make so the pictre would look fresh and would attract my audience attention. I then began editing tr background of photo using the Magic Wand tool. I gradually took out the background and created a white backdrop. I believed this made the picture look proffessiona and created a good background to make the colours stand out. After using this tool I zoomed into the picture and began using the rubber tool which helped me to smoothed out all the edges around her body. Lastly I used the cloning tool on phototshop to help me make chloe’s blind fold look a darker black at the side of her head. This was easily done and added greater affect as it wasn’t fading into the background anymore.

Editing this picture of photoshop I again began by changing the colour levels. This made a big difference as his top looks brighter, his hair looks darker and the piano keys look whiter. Using this tool makes the picture look more proffesional and links in with the brightness of the other edited pictures. Again I used the Magic Wand Tool to take away the background in the photo. His body was hard to go around but using the rubber tool I was able to erase my own parts and go over the edges to level them out. I chose to do this as not only does it make the colours in the picture stand out from the plain background it gives me more opportunity for when I use it in my double page spread.

This picture Matt reflect characteristic of him being cool and laid back; something my target audience will like. The first thing I wanted to do to this picture was make it look less blurred. On phototshop changing the colour levels helped me to do this, as it made the photo look sharper. From my research on music magazines, lots of the pictures they use and take have plain an basic backgrounds. So decided to take out this background with the Magic Wand tool. Again I used the rubber to slicken the edges around his body. Editing the background around the guitar was hard to do with this tool though and I tried to make it look as smooth and real as possible. I also had to use the cloning tool on this picture for the chair, to make some backlegs as they had been taken out frm the Magic Wand Tool.

In this picture the band are wearing different clothes and they don’t have their blindfolds on. I wanted to use this picture to make them look like they were being interviewed and that they were normal teenagers, just like the reader.

The shot is a high angle shot and will make the reader feel like they more power than the artists; as they will be finding out lots of information about them.

Editing this photo on the programme photoshop, I began by changing the colour levels of the picture. Making the colours stand out in the picture, for example Chloe’s jeggings and bracelet. I used the adjust tool to change the brightness/contrast of this picture as I wanted to make it have a paparazzi feel. As if they were being photographed without warning and in one big flash! To show they are a new and popular band. I also did this to make Ryan and Matt’s teeth look whiter because from looking at different photos in magazines and famous celebrities in the media, all of them have their teeth whitened. It reflects how they have lots of money to splash out and also how they care about their image and want to be perfect. I then used the magic wand tool on photoshop to take away the background, as its not very interesting. Doing this it focuses our attention on the band and adds to the brightness of colour tones.
